I run workshops to cater to the specific needs and skills of a variety of groups. I have experience of working with a broad range of participants including artists, school children, senior citizens, post-graduates, women’s groups, poetry and creative writing groups.
I have recently worked for STASH, Blackpool Arts, The Broughton Trust, Salford Univeristy and The Arvon Foundation and lectured at sympossiums and conferences nationwide.

I am an associate lecturer within the School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University and a visiting lecturer at London College of Communication.

The Complete Bookmaker - Wednesdays 19th May – 21st July 2010 6.30pm – 9.00pm, Hot Bed Press, Salford.

We are pleased to announce a brand new 10 week course in bookmaking at Hot Bed Press which will give a comprehensive approach to book arts. Over 10 summer evenings Lucy will explore narrative and sequence, form and content, text and image. Inspired by contemporary examples of artists’ books you will experiment with your own imagery and text in book form.

Using print/type/stitch and folding techniques, these ten weeks will be a playground fot developing your skills and creativity. You will learn how to make various book structures to support and house your concepts. Visual exercises in journey mapping/ free writing. Narrative formulation and paper engineering will form the basis for the unique books that you create. The workshop will be a great opportunity to allow anyone with an idea for a book that hasn’t yet come to fruition to dedicate the time to experiment with different techniques.
